I had a dream …

   تصوري داشتم ...

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with God.

   خيال ميکردم که در کنار ساحل با خدا قدم مي زنم

Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

   در ميان آسمان تصويري از زندگيم جلوه گر شد

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;

   در هر قسمت دو جاي پا بر روي شن ها ديدم

One belonging to me, and the other to God.

   يکي متعلق به من و ديگري به خدا

When the last scene of my life flashed before me.

   وقتي آخرين صحنه زندگيم نمايان شد

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

   بازگشتم و به جاي پاي روي شن ها نگريستم

I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of foot prints.

   ديدم که چندين زمان در طول زندگانيم يک جاي پا بيشتر نيست

I also noticed that it happened at very lowest and saddest times in my life.

   همچنين دريافتم که اين در سخت ترين و غمناك ترين لحظات زندگيم اتفاق افتاده است

This really bothered me so I questioned God about it.

   اين موضوع مرا براستي ميرنجاند پس براي رفع ابهامم از خدا سوال کردم.

"God, you said that once I decided to follow you. You'd walk with me all the way."

   خداوندا فرمودي که اگر به تو ايمان بياورم، هيچ گاه مرا تنها نخواهي گذاشت

But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprint.

   اما ديدم که در سخت ترين لحظات زندگيم فقط يک جاي پا بيشتر نيست

I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

   نميدانم چرا در زماني که بيشترين نياز را به تو داشتم، تنهايم گذاشتي

God replied, "My precious, precious child"

   خدا فرمود: فرزند عزيزم

I love you, and I would never leave you.

   تو را دوست دارم و هرگز تنهايت نمي گذارم

During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints

   اگر در مواقع سختي و رنج فقط يک جاي پا مي بيني

It was then that I carried you.

   در آن لحظات تو را بدوش کشيدم
